ARCADE

JJ Cruickshank

Junior Producer

JJ initially trained as an actor at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and worked professionally solely as an actor for theatres such as Chichester Festival Theatre and Shakespeare's Globe, before diversifying their career as a multidisciplinary theatre professional in 2020. If it's creative and in theatre, JJ can do it!

Since then they have worked:

  • As a theatre maker and playwright, performing their work at Northern Stage, Leeds Playhouse and Stephen Joseph Theatre, and writing for The Blanket Fort Club (immersive sensory theatre).

  • Directed work for Alphabetti Theatre.

  • Facilitated workshops for ARCADE, National Literacy Trust, Eastside Educational Trust, Grimm & Co, Leeds Playhouse, National Theatre and Theatre Royal Wakefield.

  • Taught up and coming actors and creatives at Leeds Junior Conservatoire and Mill School of Performance.

  • Founded and co-run their own LGBTQIA+ theatre company, (Not) Forever Yone supporting local LGBTQIA+ creativity, increasing inclusivity and after their first successful Arts Council England funded project, they are producing their first tour of their show, How to be a HOT MESS.

Having worked with ARCADE regularly over the past few years as an artist, JJ is excited to develop as their junior producer and continue to uplift all the amazing work ARCADE does.
