Back for its third year, popular immersive installation, Grue by Wintercroft, was back in a new home! Built by our community and made entirely from recycled and repurposed materials, Grue was reached through a magical door on the top floor of Scarborough Library.
Scarborough Library
For families, suitable for all ages but perfect for 6+
Grue invited families to step into a fantastical world and explore a series of enchanting landscapes. They travelled through dense forest and across icy regions on an important mission, discovering forgotten creatures both big and small.
With their help, this wondrous world was documented once and for all and the librarian wrote the final chapter of their book and placed it on the library shelves for good.
Grue had live actors, but no surprises or jump scares! Grue provided a welcoming wintry experience for all the family and there were hot drinks and snacks available on site.
Grue was on the first floor of Scarborough Library. There are ramps, automatic doors, and an induction loop in the main area of the library. There is lift access, and the lift is 80cm wide.
There are two accessible toilets (and baby change facilities) on the ground floor. Further toilets that are non-accessible are available on the top floor.
There were actors, UV and voices, as well as surprising, but not loud, sounds.
